When you face this type of problem, you can run a few commands. These commands will reset connections and DNS. Hopefully, It may fix local area connection doesn’t have a valid IP configuration problem. To do it, follow these instructions. Step 1: Open Command Prompt as Administrator If the status of your Local Area Connection is disabled, right-click the Local Area Connection icon and select Enable. Otherwise, go to the next step. Otherwise, go to the next step. Right-click the Local Area Connection icon and select Properties . A new window will open. Right-click Local Area Connection and make sure Bridge Connections is NOT selected. Windows XP. Go to Start > Control Panel > Network Connections. In the Network Connections window, right-click on an active Ethernet connection (Local Area Connection Enabled) and make sure Bridge Connections is NOT selected. Inactivating and reactivating the connection doesn t help it shows finding IP address for a minute or two, then goes to the limited or no internet connection message.

Mar 20, 2013 · "Local Area Connection" means connecting to your router with a wire (ethernet cable). You should not need this, if you are able to connect Wirelessly. I hope this helps.
